Our history

Theoretical studies, research, field tests, and university publications related to the hydraulic calculations of irrigation networks and the evaluation of pressure drops in irrigation devices. Theoretical-experimental investigations allow us to reach a new state of the art in the evaluation of irrigation systems and to develop a hydraulic calculation algorithm, thus laying the foundations for implementing new and more advanced software tools.

The research group placed among the top three entrepreneurial ideas in the StartCup 2005 competition organized by the University of Palermo. It also obtained favorable consensus during the final stages of the PNI competition (National Innovation Award, Padua 2005).

Irriworks Srl was born on 6 March 2006 and obtained its own space within the ARCA incubator. The company is dedicated to developing tools and services applied to hydraulics and agriculture, particularly irrigation. In 2007 he participated in the International Conference on Agricultural Engineering and Industry Fair held in Hersonissos (Crete), obtaining an important recognition.

After a long engineering and development process, Irriworks presents its first product on the market. IrriPro represents an effective and extremely versatile calculation tool for designing any modern irrigation plant capable of balancing scientific rigor and heavy computational load. The software is presented during the EIMA fair and improved with each new version.

Irriworks participates in the "Italy of Innovators" exhibition at the Shanghai Expo, to represent the state of art of technological capability and innovation in Italy. During the event Irriworks received the recognition of "Innovator selected at Expo Shanghai 2011" by the Ministry of Public Administration and Innovation.
The company also conducts design activities for irrigation systems to be built in Africa. In collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture of Palermo, in Ruyigi, Burundi, it carries out the testing of new hydraulic models afield.

Since 2012, collaborations have been started with important Italian and foreign industrial companies, such as Plast Project, Vyrsa and Netafim, just to name a few. Thanks to these partnerships, new joint projects have been developed and specific products created which represent the synthesis between Irriworks' technological skills and the partners' experience in the field.

Since 2013, agreements have been stipulated with various Italian (Milan, Palermo, Catania, Padua) and foreign (Mendel, San Paolo) universities and various professional associations. In this way students, teachers and researchers were able to exploit the scientific rigor of our software even in the academic field.

Presentation of IrriRT, the first software dedicated to landscape, residential and sports greenery. Derived from the technical experience of IrriPro and applied to the peculiarities of gardening, it immediately became a highly requested and appreciated product among users.

For 2 consecutive years, Eima has recognized two innovative aspects of our software: the pump function (unique in the landscape of technical irrigation software) and the introduction of Carver AI, the artificial intelligence to automate and speed up the design process of an irrigation plant in IrriPro.

Irriworks believed from the start in introducing artificial intelligence into the design process. Thanks to this technology, users complete a design very quickly through decision support that considers agronomic, plant engineering, and experiential aspects.
